Lac Ste. Anne Roadside Garbage Clean-Up

Roadside litter is more than just an eyesore, it has a negative impact on our natural agricultural, and urban ecosystems. That is why the Alberta Botanical Society helped Lac Ste. Anne County clean up two roadways.

Our volunteers had an amazing day cleaning up two miles of garbage; however, our volunteers did get distracted identifying all the pretty plants along the way! See if you have also identify some of the plants captured in our photos. For fauna, the team was able to spot a moose and stumble across multiple cattle skulls. Overall, our volunteers were extremely impressed with the cleanliness of Lac Ste. Anne's ditches as well as thankful to contribute in their maintenance.

We would like to give a huge shoutout to Eykes Bobcat Services. The company generously offered their trailer for the garbage clean-up, which streamlined our transportation.

Additionally, we would like to thank the county for generously offering us this opportunity in exchange for a monetary reward. As always, these funds will go a long way to help the Society continue to expand and fulfill our goals.
